The Anointing That Produces
Results
by Dr. John Tetsola
Our ability to release the anointing that produces results is dependent upon our desire and level of submission to the power of the Holy Spirit. This submission involves our willingness to live out of our spirit man rather than that of our flesh. Our spirit man seems to be wrapped up in a covering so that it cannot easily break forth, but it is from the flow of the inward man—the spirit man, that we experience the anointing that produces the results that we need.
For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
2 Corinthians 4:16And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious; and she brake the box, and poured it on his head.
Mark 14:3We have those who still have not experienced the fragrance and the oozing of the content of the alabaster box. The Body of Christ must realize and know that for one to effectively work for God and release the anointing to produce results, the individual must know how to affect the inward man. The basic problem and difficulty of most Christians today is the failure of the inward man to break through the outward man. The content of the alabaster box cannot and will not be known until the box itself is broken. Just as the alabaster box must be broken for its contents to be fully released, in order for the inward man to be renewed, the outward man must be broken (perish). Therefore, the Body of Christ must recognize and accept that the first difficulty to our doing great exploits for God and flowing in the miraculous is not in others but in ourselves.
The Breaking Process
You will never be successful in this hour in ministry or in any endeavor for God if you are still walking around with an unbroken flask or box. This is the hour that God is calling the Church to the place of breaking of the alabaster box. It is the content of the box that is needed in this hour and not the beauty of the box itself. One of the problems experienced in the Body of Christ is that we have not been properly taught how to break this outer layer in order to reveal the essence and contents of the box. The Church needs the fragrance of the anointing. The fragrance of the anointing represents the results that the anointing itself produces when it is released. The aftermath of the usage of the anointing is the fragrance. When a believer ministers under the anointing in destroying yokes, the destruction of the yoke is the result of the flow and release of the anointing in the individual’s life.Ways of Breaking
The Holy Spirit employs two different ways to break our outer layer, (the outward man) to release the anointing. One is gradual and the other is sudden. To some believers, they experience a sudden breaking followed by a gradual one. With others, the Spirit of God arranges that they have constant daily experiences, until one day He brings a large scale breaking. This is very serious because we can preach and teach by using our minds and intellect and we can stir Christians by using our emotions, but if we do not know how to operate through our recreated human spirits, the Spirit of God cannot touch people through us. Unfortunately some remain the same after many years of dealings. Some individuals have a forceful will. Some have strong emotions and others have a hard heart. One of the important reasons why some don’t experience this breaking is because they walk in the works of the flesh and cannot see the hand of God in operation. Our desire should be to yield to the Spirit of God so that the flesh (outward man) can be subdued. Only the believer through whom God can come forth is useful. After our outward man has been dealt with, stricken, and put under subjection, we have wounds upon us, thus allowing the spirit to emerge. Should the outward man remain whole, everything would be merely in our mind and utterly useless.Verily, verily, I say unto you, except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.
John 12:24As long as the outward man remains unbroken, the inward man will never be able to come forth. As this year ends, let us examine ourselves to see if we’re in the faith. Has your alabaster box been broken? Have you allowed your outward man to be cracked, allowing the anointing of God that produces results to manifest in your life? In order to allow the inner life to come forth and have free course, it is imperative that the outward man be replaced. Allow the power of the Word of God to crack our outward man so that the anointing and fragrance of the Holy Spirit can be released to produce eternal results.
